Shivnala Lift Irrigation Scheme

Project information

Shivnala Lift Irrigation Scheme

Shivnala Lift Irrigation Scheme is an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) project consisting of irrigating 3201 Ha (ICA) through rising main and a pipe distribution network (PDN), including construction of pump house, 33 kv switchyard, installation of HT line from MSEDCL substation to pumping station along with complete supply & erection of pumping machinery and all its allied electromechanical items.

This project was awarded to SSFM by VIDC in 2018. The complete design drawing of the scheme was done by SSFM which involved total 119.45 km of pipe line laying including 8.37 km rising main and 111.08 km HDPE PN 6 kg pipes. The scheme was designed with a state-of-the-art technology application involving use of SCADA software with automatic operating valves through GPS technology, operated by PLC interface installed at the pump house control room and using siphonic action for water intake from Ghosikhurd Right Bank Canal.

Such technology enables the client to control the irrigation scheduling remotely from SCADA software through any mobile device, thus significantly reducing O&M costs and providing complete water usage data to the Government for necessary water monitoring and control. It is a one-of-a-kind scheme in Maharashtra and SSFM is proud to be a part of it.
